Today’s adventure takes us to the Walt Disney Barn in Los Angeles, CA. This is a fascinating hidden gem located in Griffith Park. When Andy and I arrived at the Barn we were not sure what to expect. We read a lot of reviews and did our research so we were very excited about visiting. We love finding places that allow us to take a look into Walt’s life and the history behind Disneyland since we are big Disney fans. Walt Disney was such an extraordinary man, who accomplished so much in his lifetime. We find it amazing how his dream turned into something bigger than what people imagined. You are probably wondering why is this barn so important and what is the big deal? Well Walt Disney loved trains, he loved trains so much that he built Carolwood Pacific Railroad in his backyard. The train was named Carolwood because he lived on Carolwood Drive. Walt built the barn so he can control the switches on the track and monitor it. This barn also was a workshop and a place where Walt and his friends can relax and have some fun, kind of like a man cave. Walt not only spent hours in the barn working on his train, it was also a place where he would think of new projects and ideas.

Once you walk through the gate, on the left side you will get to see a miniature town. It is a great place to take pictures, especially with the kids.

Then you will be able to see the barn. Depending on how busy it is, you may have to wait in line. Once inside the barn, you will get to see plenty of memorabilia’s. There is so much to see so make sure you don’t blink because inside the barn has some amazing things.

Looking at the display of Big Thunder Mountain and Matterhorn was stunning and made me want to go to Disneyland. There was so much to look at we wanted to make sure we didn’t miss anything.

Lastly, once you are done looking through the barn you can then take pictures next to the train used at Disneyland. Unfortunately, we were not able to go inside the train but you can see it from the outside.

Walt Disney Barn was an incredible experience that we recommend. If you are in the Griffith Park area, we do suggest that you visit this place. It is full of history of Walt Disney and you can see and hear amazing stories about him inside the barn. This is a great place to enjoy with your family or bring the kids who enjoy trains. There is always plenty to learn about Walt Disney and it’s always fun to get to hear his stories. We will see you in our next adventure.
